Tū Wairua Project

Since 2023, Mana Health has been engaged with the kaitiaki and whanau of Rangiwaho Marae in Tairāwhiti, Gisborne to tautoko/support their initiative, the Tū Wairua project. We have supported protocol development and ethics application for their phase 1 study and have also enrolled a cohort of clinicians and kaitiaki in the Mana Psychedelic-Assisted Care Training programme, co-designing the therapeutic approach unique to Rangiwaho marae. This world-first indigenous approach to psychedelic care has the potential to transform treatment for methamphetamine addiction among other mental health challenges for Maori and all people of the world.
